An einen Freund in den USA; ausführlich und sehr sympathisch über die künftige Verwaltung seines ererbten Anwesens in Minnesota. "... Your letter makes me homesick for Minnesota and the fall days which are nowhere as beautiful as in a country of cold winters. Seasons have never meant as much to me as they did during the years I lived in Minnesota. Dr. Nute, of the Minnesota Historical Society, sent me a number of pictures she took when you showed her over the property ...". Mit ähnlicher Diskretion wie die qualitätvollen Bilder sollen auch die nunmehr gefassten Pläne für die alte Farm verwirklicht werden. "... The planting of the trees which you mention ... should be a great improvement and should add materially to the beauty of the property after they have had a few years to grow ... I am especially interested in two policies ... First, that the property be left in a simple and natural condition. Second, that the fact of its being named after my father be not lost by bringing out too prominently incidents connected with my own life ... I hope the property is always handled in a way which will permit people from Little Falls and the nearby country to obtain real pleasure from going there. Vorgedruckter und handschriftlich ausgefüllter Lieferschein der "Standard Oil Company of New York" in Englisch und Chinesisch über "125 Gal[lon]s Aviation Gasoline" und "20 Gal[lon]s Aircraft Oil # 4 (10/1)." - In July of 1931, Charles and Anne Morrow Lindbergh embarked from New York on a tour of Asia in their Lockheed Sirius plane. They made a few stops before arriving in Nanking (Nanjing), where they discovered a natural disaster caused by severe flooding of the Yangtzee River. The Lindberghs remained for some time, while Charles made aerial photographic surveys of the damage and delivered supplies to remote villages. In October, the Lindberghs flew to Shanghai, where they ended their tour. - Kleiner Defekt am Oberrand.
